Patrick C. Connor

The New Testament (NT) is composed of 27 books (in order):

- 4 Gospels, partial biographies of Jesus, believed to be written by their namesakes.

- 1 book on the history of the early church believed to be written by an author of one of the Gospels.

- 13 letters of Saul/Paul of Tarsus to various churches and individuals

- 1 book, Hebrews, generally believed to have an unknown author

- 7 more letters written by other early Christian leaders

- 1 book of prophecy (end of the world stuff) written by John, one of Jesus' twelve close disciples

Conservative dating would have all books written in the period of 50AD to 100AD. Liberal dating would push these dates back around 30-50 years.
